Me Lawrence Al Kabain
Lawyer and member of the Barreau du Québec. Private practice in real estate law, insurance law, estates, and civil and commercial law.
Member of the Barreau du Québec — no. 362666-1
Background
I earned my law degree at the Université de Montréal and have been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2023.
Before and during the development of my private practice, I served as in-house legal counsel at Sodexo and at Aegis FM. That work put me in daily contact with commercial contracts, leases, claims and contractual disputes — seen from inside an organization, with the budget, timeline and risk constraints that come with it.
That experience still shapes how I work. When an insurer, a commercial landlord or an institutional supplier is on the other side of a file, it helps to know how those decisions actually get made, and which arguments move them.
How I work
I practise on my own, and that is deliberate. The person you speak to on the first call is the person who will know your file from beginning to end. Nothing gets lost in the handoff between one person and another.
I would also rather be direct about what is realistic. Some files are worth pursuing, some would cost more to run than they could ever recover, and others are resolved with a well-constructed letter. You deserve to know which one yours is before committing to anything.

What I don't handle
A focused practice means serving the files I do accept properly. I don't act in the following areas:
- Criminal and penal law
- Family law (divorce, custody, support)
- Tax law
- Immigration
- Class actions
If your file falls into one of these areas, mention it at first contact and I'll point you toward the right resource rather than waste your time.
