The information on this site is general in nature and provided for informational purposes only. 3. No lawyer-client relationship

Browsing this site, submitting the contact form, sending an email or booking an appointment does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Such a relationship arises only once a written mandate has been accepted and signed by both parties.

Until a mandate is in place, the information you send does not necessarily attract professional secrecy. You are therefore advised not to communicate confidential or sensitive information at first contact. It also remains possible that obligations toward other clients prevent me from accepting your file.

4. No guarantee of results

Every file is distinct and its outcome depends on facts, evidence and circumstances particular to it. No result is guaranteed, promised or implied, and nothing on this site constitutes a prediction as to the outcome of any matter.

5. Professional advertising

This site is a professional communication published in accordance with the obligations applicable to members of the Barreau du Québec, including those governing advertising. No specialist title is claimed. The practice areas described reflect the types of mandates accepted, not a certification of specialization.

6. Protection of personal information

This policy describes how personal information collected through this site is handled, in accordance with Quebec legislation applicable to the protection of personal information in the private sector.

6.1 Person responsible for the protection of personal information

M^e Lawrence Al Kabain acts as the person responsible for the protection of personal information. Any question or request concerning your information may be addressed to him at alkabainlegal@gmail.com.

6.2 Information collected

Only information you voluntarily provide is collected, namely:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your telephone number, if you choose to provide it;
• the area of law and preferred language you select;
• the summary of the situation that you write.

6.3 No cookies and no tracking

This site uses no cookies, no audience analytics tools, no advertising pixels, and no fonts or other resources loaded from third-party servers. No profiling is carried out and your browsing is not tracked.

6.4 Purposes of use

The information collected is used solely to communicate with you about your inquiry, to assess whether I am able to act on it, and to verify the absence of a conflict of interest. It is not used for any commercial purpose, is neither sold nor rented, and is not used to send you promotional communications.

6.5 Disclosure to third parties

Information is not disclosed to any third party, except to the technical providers strictly necessary to operate this site — namely the host and the contact form processing service — who may access it solely for the purpose of delivering your message. Some of these providers may process or store information outside Quebec.

6.6 Retention and destruction

Inquiries that do not lead to the opening of a file are retained for the period necessary to process the inquiry and verify conflicts of interest, and are then destroyed. Where a mandate is opened, information is retained in accordance with the professional obligations governing the keeping of lawyers' files.

6.7 Your rights

You may at any time:

• request access to the personal information held about you;
• request its correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
• withdraw your consent to its use;
• request its destruction, subject to legal and professional retention obligations.

Such requests should be addressed to the person identified in section 6.1. If the response you receive does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

6.8 Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect the information collected. No transmission over the Internet can, however, be guaranteed entirely secure: avoid transmitting sensitive information by email or through a form until a mandate is in place.

7. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, layout, graphic elements and photographs — is protected by copyright. Any reproduction or redistribution, in whole or in part, without prior written authorization is prohibited.

8. Links to third-party sites

This site may link to external resources, including an appointment booking service. Those sites are governed by their own terms and policies, for which I accept no responsibility.

9. Governing law

This notice is governed by the law applicable in the province of Quebec. Any dispute relating to this site falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Laval, province of Quebec.
